Japanese Pond Turtle

Looking for a new pet? Our Japanese Pond Turtle is a unique and interesting option, with its striking appearance and interesting behaviors. Also known as a Red-eared Mud Turtle, this small turtle can grow up to 7.5 cm in length, but can also be kept in as small an aquarium as 25 litres. Our adult specimens are fully weaned and feeding on regular turtle food like pellets and shrimp. The red stripe on their neck (called a carapace) distinguishes Juvenile Japanese Pond Turtles from other species of pond turtle. This unique stripe starts out at the bottom of the carapace and fades as they get older.
