Pitch Black Line Northern Blue Tongue Skink. The Pitch Black Line Northern Blue Tongue Skink (Forbes’ Blue Tongue) is a thick bodied lizard that gets its name from the black line that travels vertically down its back. Sometimes this line will extend down onto the tail and even part way up its sides. There is also a faint blue coloration around the lower borders of these lizards which can be visible in bright lighting.
